It was two summers ago when I first met a woman named Maya. For some reason, out of all the women, Junichi Takakura had ever met, this woman's presence never left his mind.
Junichi often went through Toyama Park on his way home from work. Once you got through the park, it was only a short walk to Junichi's apartment. At night, you could see many people running in the park.
Recently, a new high-rise condominium, Sky Forest Residence with twenty-six floors, was built along the railroad tracks just 6 minutes from Takadanobaba Station, on the Yamanote Line. The number of people coming and going had increased. He was curious as to what kind of rich people would move into this high-rise luxury condominium.
Junichi hated the word "wealthy" people. No matter how much he earned, he could see what lay before that. After paying the rent for the cheap Okubo apartment, there wasn't much left. He couldn't afford a luxurious life.
