The haiku is a Japanese poetic form that consists of three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third. Hisayuki takes revered haikus written by others to comment on observations he has had regarding the world, human life, and how to live peacefully.

Hisayuki Kazumasa

Born in 1937. Graduated from the National Defense Academy of Japan and joined the Japan Ground Self Defense Force. Graduated from the Graduate School of Engineering at Kyoto University with a PhD in engineering. Worked in agencies and units within the Ministry of Defense.
