[About the product]
During his 36 years of working at the zoo, he spent 22 years living with gorillas. Those were days of encounters and partings, and also days of treasures that cannot be described in detail.
This book is a record of three gorillas that the author, who has been in charge of gorillas for many years as a keeper at Nihondaira Zoo, met and had a heart-to-heart with. "Goron" took a nap on my lap from the first day I moved in, "Toto" grew from malnutrition and went to Ueno Zoo to breed, and "Taiko" came from Ueno Zoo to replace Toto.
This book, which describes the endearing nature of these delicate and gentle creatures that are close to humans, is a great book to learn deeply about gorillas, and I would recommend it to many people.

[Comments from the Editor]
The King Kong-like image that comes to mind when we hear the word gorilla has diminished, and I think this is largely due to the hard work of zoo keepers. This book is a work that allows you to get a glimpse of that "effort", but it is also a book that makes you feel the richness of the existence of "zoos" where you can observe the ecology of wild animals up close.
I hope that many people will enjoy interacting with gorillas through this book.
